The Oakley Split Jacket has a difficult but featherweight frame prepared of “stress-resistant O Matter,” whatever the heck that is, and grippy “Unobtainium” stem sleeves and nose pads. The frame and stems are curved and hug my chief closely, supplying good breath blockage. The stem sleeves are held in position via a notched out chip of each temple arm. Unfortunately, repeatedly sliding the sunglasses on and off whereas fraying a comfortable, full-face helmet has stretched the sleeves and they tend to remain pressed onto the fat fraction of the arms (see photo). Some silicone adhesive would keep the sleeves in position, but thereafter I couldn’t withdraw them for cleaning. And via staying stretched out, they are conception to rip, hardly an endearing quality of $260 sunglasses.
